Coming Soon – God-King Of The Living Dead

I have a story titled God-King Of The Living Dead to be published a little later this year in The Fairy Tale Collection – The Knight Sky from Anthology House Publishing.

My tale features the return of an ongoing character, Caligula Wulf, who first appeared in my story Unnatural Acts.

This time Caligula Wulf time is accidentally summoned to mediaeval Hungary to face an undead hoard lead by their infernally powerful, and gibberingly insane, God-King…

More details coming soon…

Publication Date to be confirmed

God-King Of The Living Dead

Short story, circa 5500 words

Historical Fantasy, Sword & Sorcery, Dark Comedy

To be featured in the anthology The Fairy-Tale Collection : The Knight Sky, Edited by J. L. Lane, published by Anthology House Publishing

Mediaeval Dead! Another story accepted this morning.

death3death2Well, here I go into full gloat mode.

It’s the 11th of October and I’ve already had four stories accepted this month.

This latest one is a para-quasi-pseudo-semi-historical fantasy.

Or if you prefer, a sword-and-sorcery romp with some very tongue-in-cheek tones.

I’ll be posting more about this later but for now I’ll mention that the tale takes place in 9th century Hungary.

You know, back in that period when the land was being plagued by marauding hordes of the undead…

The story also features the return of my erratically reoccurring character Caligula Wulf (who made his first published appearance in the story Unnatural Acts).

More on this and other stories very soon.death6

Short story, circa 5,000 words, featured in The Adventures of Moriarty: The Secret Life of Sherlock Holmes’s Nemesis (anthology), edited by Maxim Jakubowski, published in the UK by Constable Robinson and in the USA by Running Press.

“We think of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, but far more seductive is the pairing of Holmes and Professor James Moriarty, ‘the Napoleon of crime’ – a rivalry unparalleled in the world of crime fiction. Fiercely intelligent and a relentless schemer, Moriarty is the super-villain as megastar.

The anthology reveals not just the evil side of Moriarty’s personality, but his humanity, his motivations and his human failings. Some of the stories are humorous, some scary, but all are hugely entertaining.”

How to Trick the Devil: New Anthology Release October 15th!

Reblogged from Stephanie Buosi of Erebus Press

erebuspress

Its been a long process, from its creation in March to now, but Erebus Press is finally ready to release its debut anthology this October 15th.

Can you really trick the devil? Is evil something outside of ourselves, in monsters hiding in the shadows, or is it intrinsic to our nature?

How to Trick the Devil tells stories of trickery and deception; of monsters lurking in unexpected places; of the lengths we might go to get what we want.

Much more than your average deal-with-the-devil tale, the talented authors in this collection explore the motivations behind the choices we make, be it out of fear, greed, or desperation.

Many thanks to all the talented authors involved in making this collection:

Mara Dabrishus, Ramona Thompson, Philip Thorogood, James Dorr, David S. Pointer, Barry Nove, Sasha Erfanian, Nicole Luttrell, Rie Sheridan Rose, Palumbo Sergio, J.J. Steinfeld, Gary Murphy, Mark Slade, Kenneth Goldman, G. H. Finn, Richard Claycomb, and John Adams.

Special thanks to Dale Leary, who designed the cover to How to Trick the Devil.

How To Trick The Devil – Due to be published 16th October 2015

My short-story Unnatural Acts is included in the anthology How To Trick The Devil by Erebus Press – which has just had it’s publication date confirmed as 16th October 2015.

It’s going to be a busy week for me that week as another short story of mine, The Perfect Crime, is being published in The Mammoth Book of the Adventures of Moriarty on the 15th! As they say, it’s like buses…

Here is the text from the back-cover of How To Trick The Devil :-

The devil lures with sweet words and promises, do you fall for his trap or trick him instead? Can you really have it all?

How to Trick the Devil tells stories of trickery and deception; of monsters lurking in unexpected places; of the lengths we might go to get what we want. Much more than your average deal-with-the-devil tale, the talented authors in this collection explore the motivations behind the choices we make, be it out of fear, greed, or desperation.

The trickster works in confidence, never expecting the twists that just might tear their plans apart. Evil is not always rewarded, but the hero does not always win.

My Story “Unnatural Acts” will be published in “How To Trick The Devil”

erebuspress I’m delighted to be able to write that my short-story Unnatural Acts will be published in the forthcoming anthology How To Trick The Devil, edited by Stephaine Buosi for Erebus Press.

“Unnatural Acts” is a supernatural comic-horror story which should tickle your funny bones if you like your humour on the dark side…

I don’t currently have a confirmed publication date but tentatively it is September 2015.

More news as I have it.
